Dorchester Heritage Calendar Photography Contest OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. CONTEST PERIOD The contest runs from the announcement date through October 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST. All entries must be received by this deadline. 2. ELIGIBILITY Contest is open to photographers of all skill levels and ages Participants must be able to visit the Dorchester Heritage Center during specified hours Employees and immediate family members of Dorchester Heritage Center are not eligible One entry form per person, but photographers may submit up to 2 photographs 3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Location Restriction: All photographs must be taken on the grounds of the Dorchester Heritage Center located on Highway 78 in Ridgeville, South Carolina Time Restriction: Photos must be taken during Farmers Market operating hours (Saturdays, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM) between the contest announcement date and October 1, 2025 Submission Limit: Maximum of 2 entries per photographer Technical Requirements: Photographs must be submitted in high-resolution digital format (minimum 300 DPI, JPEG or PNG format) Original Work: All entries must be original work created by the submitting photographer 4. SUBMISSION PROCESS Entries must be emailed to manager@highway78fm.com and include: High-resolution photograph files Photographer's full legal name Complete contact information (mailing address, email address, phone number) Signed release statement (see Section 6) Brief description of photo subject/location (optional) 5. JUDGING AND PRIZES Judging: Entries will be judged by a panel selected by Dorchester Heritage Center based on artistic merit, composition, and representation of the heritage site Winners: 13 total winners will be selected (1 Grand Prize winner for calendar cover, 12 Monthly winners) Grand Prize: $100 cash and calendar cover feature Monthly Winners: $25 cash each and calendar month page feature All Participants: Free 2026 calendar and online gallery recognition Youth Recognition: Special acknowledgment for photographers under 18 years of age Winner Notification: Winners will be contacted via email and phone by October 15, 2025 6. RIGHTS AND RELEASES By submitting an entry, the photographer grants Dorchester Heritage Center: Unlimited Usage Rights: Perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display the submitted photographs Commercial Use: Right to use photographs in calendars, postcards, prints, promotional materials, websites, social media, and any other marketing materials Ownership: While photographer retains copyright, Dorchester Heritage Center receives exclusive commercial usage rights for heritage center purposes Attribution: Dorchester Heritage Center will provide photographer credit when practically feasible Model/Property Release: Photographer warrants they have obtained necessary releases for any recognizable people or private property in photographs 7. PHOTOGRAPHER WARRANTIES By entering, photographer represents and warrants that: They are the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted work The photograph does not infringe upon any third party's rights They have the right to grant the usage rights specified herein All necessary permissions have been obtained for any people or property featured The photograph was taken during the specified time and location requirements 8. DISQUALIFICATION Entries may be disqualified for: Failure to meet submission requirements Photographs not taken at the specified location and time Exceeding the 2-entry limit per photographer Submitting work that is not original or infringes on others' rights Providing false information in the submission 9. GENERAL CONDITIONS No Purchase Necessary: Entry is free and no purchase is required Taxes: Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes on prizes Prize Substitution: Dorchester Heritage Center reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value Publicity: Winners may be required to participate in promotional activities Force Majeure: Contest may be modified or cancelled due to circumstances beyond organizer's control Disputes: Any disputes will be resolved under South Carolina state law Privacy: Personal information collected will be used solely for contest administration and winner notification 10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Dorchester Heritage Center, its employees, and affiliates are not responsible for: Technical failures or malfunctions affecting entry submission Lost, late, or misdirected entries Any injuries sustained while taking photographs on the premises Any costs associated with participating in the contest 11. MODIFICATIONS Dorchester Heritage Center reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time with reasonable notice to participants. By submitting an entry, photographers acknowledge they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
